The two founders of Comox Valley News (Jim and HelenMarie) moved to the Comox Valley in 2003 and immediately fell in love with the beaches, the weather, and the incredibly friendly culture.

We knew this was the best place for us to live, even though life took us away from the valley for a decade between 2006 and 2016, when we returned to this gentle island valley for good.

Comox Valley News is built on our love of the communities of the valley.

If we could, we’d eat at every restaurant, shop at every local store, relax on every beach, play in every park, and attend every concert, play, and event this wonderful community has to offer.

There are so many fun and interesting things happening here, that keeping up with everything is a real challenge.

That’s why it’s our mission to create a really comprehensive resource to list and promote all the great things to do in and see here in the Comox Valley.

The restaurants, shops, spas, boutiques, festivals, and concerts we all love…

…but also the free events in the parks, the farmers’ markets, community get-togethers, volunteer opportunities, and even the birthdays, weddings, and anniversaries that make up the core of what makes everyday life here so wonderful.

When you’re looking for things to do in the Comox Valley, this is your place.

We’re just getting started, and with contributions from people like you, we can make it even better.

About Our Founders

HelenMarie Lineham

The Comox Valley is one of nature’s wonders. The year-round green and the amazing folks who live here, make The Valley a magical place.  It is a great blessing to live here and I am so thankful to be here and have the opportunity to learn and share news, views, and celebrations with the people who live here.

I have spent many happy days already just getting to know the Valley and I would like to share my experiences with you.
Hopefully, you will share your Comox Valley with me.

Jim Van Wyck

Jim loves living here in the Comox Valley. Few things give him more pleasure than writing about the many fine small businesses, parks, beaches and events that make this a special place. He enjoys riding his bike and playing tennis.

Meet Cecile, a real Valley girl Sea-glet with a sharp eye for detail, and a
